After Rebekah studied Public Relations at Grand Canyon University, she worked for Carnival Cruise lines as a Social Hostess and an Assistant Cruise Director. She couldn’t shake the dream of writing to inspire and delight children.
So she went left the high seas and earned her Masters of Fine Arts in the critical and creative study of Children’s Literature from Hollins University. Hollins is the home of Margaret Wise Brown and Rebekah loved the annual orientations in the school’s actual “great green drawing room.”
Aside from working on her Children’s literature career, Rebekah runs her blog: Brave Tutu and now works as Coordinator for Texas Center for the Book at the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.
When Rebekah was sent the job description, she couldn’t believe such a position existed. She loves forming collaborative literacy partnerships with Letters About Literature, the Texas Center for the Book Literacy Award, Little Free Library and more.
