The Editorial Review Program

The Editorial Review Program was created to support the exchange of ideas, and the promotion of a vibrant community of writers who support each other.

Writers may submit up to 20 pages of double spaced work for review by one of a number of qualified local editors. Each submission is reviewed, and the author and reviewer are given an opportunity to meet in a relaxed one-on-one environment for 15 to 20 minutes during the Permian Basin Writers Workshop Sept 16-18, 2016 at Midland College.

To provide a quality experience for writers, editors are required to meet one of the three following criteria:

  1. Professional editing experience
  2. Have a masters degree in English, or related field
  3. Authored multiple books that have gone through professional editing with one of the big 5 publishers.

The leadership team works to ensure that each writer is paired with the most appropriate Editor available. This fall, the Editorial Review Program will be limited to the first 30 participants, and the cost to participate is $25. In order to give the editors enough time to properly review submissions registration for the Editorial Review Program will close on September 2, 2016.

Editors Needed

If you meet one or more of the three criteria to be an editor in the Editorial Review Program please consider becoming an editor.

  1. Professional editing experience
  2. Have a masters degree in English, or related field
  3. Authored multiple books that have gone through professional editing with one of the big 5 publishers.
